This basket shows how much effort weavers put into making very practical tools beautiful. It is still alive, holding the spirit of the weaver. With these old baskets, we have to hold them, touch them, talk to them. We have to let them know we are here (Terrol Dew Johnson, Tohono O’odham, 2001). |
